House Hunting Trip

Whether you have a posting message in hand, or you're still waiting for it (Grrr...), I know how important it is to get your house hunting trip moving as quickly as possible. Once posted to Ottawa you are entitled to a House Hunting Trip (HHT) which is normally taken 60; 30 days in advance of Change of Strength date (COS). A standard HHT as a Core Benefit includes up to 5 days and 5 nights at the new location, for the member, or spouse, or both. The total duration, including travel time should not normally exceed 7 days and 6 nights. This creates a challenging timeline, but by doing much of the work in advance, we can make your HHT a very successful one. We can also save time by identifying and establishing connections with your real estate lawyer, house inspector and other services in advance of your HHT.
